BECKY WAITE
Becky Waite is a London-based trumpeter originally from Liverpool. Her love for the trumpet began after hearing its evocative sound in some of the greatest film scores. She first studied the instrument under the guidance of her father, quickly developing a deep appreciation for both orchestral and jazz music. In 2006, she joined the Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, marking the start of her musical journey. Becky went on to study at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in 2008 and later pursued jazz trumpet at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt in Weimar in 2015. Since returning to London, she has freelanced and toured with various bands and orchestras and performed in major theatrical productions, including Punchdrunk’s The Burnt City. When she’s not playing the trumpet, Becky enjoys surfing and finding inspiration in the ocean’s rhythm and energy.
